Al Sisi complotta con Israele per mettere Dahlan al posto di Abbas?

Non è un gran segreto che il presidente egiziano Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, un megalomane  come Trump e un tiranno con pochi eguali, è felice di fare il lavoro sporco per Israele. E può ora essere quello che sta cercando di preparare il terreno per Mohammed Dahlan, quasi certamente una risorsa dei servizi segreti americani e israeliani (non un agente a tempo pieno), per succedere a Mahmoud Abbas come presidente dell'Autorità palestinese (AP).

Dopo la firma degli accordi di Oslo a Washington D.C. nel 1993, Dahlan fu scelto dagli americani per dirigere la Preventive Security Force (palestinese) (PSF) a Gaza. Armata, finanziata e addestrata dagli americani è diventata una forza di Fatah di 20.000 uomini che fece diventare Dahlan uno dei più potenti capi palestinesi. Le sue forze sono state regolarmente accusate di aver torturato i detenuti di Hamas nel corso del 1990 e durante questo periodo la Striscia di Gaza è stata soprannominata "Dahlanistan" a causa del potere dell'uomo. Come capo del PSF, Dahlan aveva rapporti regolari con la CIA e i funzionari dell'intelligence israeliana.

Lo stesso presidente George "Dubya" Bush ebbe almeno tre incontri con Dahlan e dopo il primo elogiò pubblicamente Dahlan come "un buon dirigente, solido". In privato il presidente descriveva ulteriormente Dahlan come "il nostro uomo".. Il tempo stava arrivando in cui egli avrebbe dimostrato quello che era.

Nel 2007 Dahlan disse "sì" ad una richiesta americana per preparare le sue forze per un attacco a tutto campo su Hamas per distruggerlo con la forza. Per quanto riguarda i politici americani (e molti europei), Hamas doveva essere distrutto a causa della sua vittoria alle elezioni del 2006 per la seconda Assemblea legislativa palestinese. Hamas guadagnò 74 seggi su 132, 29 in più di Fatah che era al governo, e il suo capo, Ismail Haniya, procedette a formare un governo. Per nessuna ragione, naturalmente, l'amministrazione Bush poteva permettergli di sopravvivere.

Sfortunatamente per Dahlan e per i suoi maestri americani, Hamas fiutò l’aria del piano per eliminarlo e lanciò un attacco preventivo, come quelli che fa Israele, che spinse le forze del PSF e il loro capo fuori dalla Striscia di Gaza.

Dopo questi avvenimenti, un'analisi stimolante e onesta fu consegnata da David Wurmser, che aveva servito come principale consigliere in Medio Oriente del vice presidente Dick Cheney.

Disse di aver creduto che Hamas non avesse avuto alcuna intenzione di assumere il controllo della Striscia di Gaza fino a quando Fatah non gli forzò la mano. "Mi sembra", dichiarò, "che ciò che è accaduto non sia stato un colpo di stato da parte di Hamas ma un tentativo di colpo di stato da parte di Fatah che fu preceduto prima che potesse accadere".

Proseguì: "L'amministrazione Bush si è impegnata in una sporca guerra nel tentativo di mettere a disposizione una dittatura corrotta (l'Autorità palestinese guidata dal Presidente Mahmoud Abbas), con la vittoria."

Wurmser disse anche di essere stato soprattutto irritato dall'ipocrisia dell'amministrazione Bush.

"C’è uno sbalorditivo scostamento tra l’appello del presidente per la democrazia in Medio Oriente e questa politica. Una contraddizione palese."

L’umiliante sconfitta di Dahlan nella striscia di Gaza non sminuì il sostegno dell'amministrazione Bush nei suoi confronti. Nel mese di ottobre 2007 Bush sottopose Abbas a forti pressioni nel tentativo di convincerlo a nominare Dahlan come suo vice. I funzionari di Fatah hanno detto che Stati Uniti e alcuni paesi dell'UE avrebbero voluto vedere Dahlan al posto di Abbas come capo della A.P.

Abbas era solo uno dei moltissimi palestinesi che hanno creduto, come me, che sia stato Dahlan che, per conto del Mossad, l'agenzia investigativa nazionale di Israele, abbia messo il veleno (polonium-210 o altro) che uccise Yasser Arafat.

Guidato da questa convinzione e dalla paura che avrebbe potuto benissimo essere la prossima vittima di Dahlan, Abbas diede l’ordine di espellerlo da Fatah. Era il giugno 2011. Tre mesi dopo la casa di Dahlan fu perquisita dalla polizia palestinese e le sue guardie del corpo furono arrestate.

Successivamente Dahlan è stato bandito da ciò che resta della Palestina e si è stabilito a Dubai. (Lui e sua moglie Jaleela e i loro quattro figli hanno la cittadinanza serba e Dahlan stesso ha anche la cittadinanza del Montenegro).

Oggi, avvantaggiato dal fatto che la maggioranza dei palestinesi occupati e oppressi è malata e stanca dell'impotenza e della corruzione dell'A.P., Dahlan sta cercando di ritornare. E il suo principale promotore è il presidente egiziano Al Sisi.

Lo scorso novembre in una riunione al Cairo si è presentato ad Abbas con un "piano d’azione" per ripulire la scena politica palestinese. la principale domanda di Sisi - il suo prezzo per un rapporto continuativo con l'A.P. - era la riconciliazione tra Abbas e Dahlan.

Tutte le indicazioni sono che Sisi vuole che Dahlan sia il successore di Abbas.

Due domande collegate mi sembra che debbano essere fatte.

La prima è - Perché, in realtà, Sisi vuole che Dahlan sia il prossimo presidente della A.P.?

La risposta in breve è - Perché questo è ciò che i capi israeliani vogliono.

La seconda domanda è - Perché, in realtà, i capi israeliani vogliono che Dahlan sia il successore  di Abbas?

La risposta in poche parole è che sperano, e forse anche credono, che egli sarebbe disposto a usare la forza per costringere i palestinesi ad accettare le briciole cadute dal tavolo del sionismo - isolati bantustan sul 30-40 per cento della Cisgiordania, che si potrebbero chiamare uno stato.

La mia ipotesi è che, anche se un complotto arabo diretto da  Sisi con la corruzione desse luogo alla sostituzione di Abbas con Dahlan  come presidente della A.P., egli sarebbe quasi certamente assassinato se cercasse di imporre ai palestinesi le condizioni di resa al sionismo.

Is Sisi plotting with Israel to have Dahlan replace Abbas?

It's not too much of a secret that Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, a Trump-like 

megalomaniac and a tyrant with few equals, is happy to do dirty work for Israel. And it may 

now be that he is seeking to prepare the ground for Mohammed Dahlan, almost certainly an 

American and Israeli intelligence asset (not a fulltime agent) to succeed Mahmoud Abbas as 

president of the Palestinian Authority (PA).

After the signing of the Oslo Accord in Washington D.C. in 1993, Dahlan was chosen by the 

Americans to head the (Palestinian) Preventive Security Force (PSF) in Gaza. Armed, funded 

and trained by the Americans it became a Fatah force of 20,000 which made Dahlan one of 

the most powerful Palestinian leaders.

His forces were regularly accused of torturing Hamas detainees throughout the 1990's and 

during this period the Gaza Strip was nicknamed "Dahlanistan" because of the man's power.

As the head of the PSF Dahlan had regular dealings with CIA and Israeli intelligence 

officials. 

President George "Dubya" Bush himself had at least three meetings with Dahlan and after the 

first one he publicly praised Dahlan as "a good, solid leader."  In private the president went 

further describing Dahlan  as "our guy.". The time was coming when he would prove that he 

was.

In 2007 Dahlan said "Yes" to an American request to prepare his forces for an all-out attack 

on Hamas to destroy it by force.

So far as American (and many European) policy makers were concerned Hamas had to be 

destroyed because of its victory in the 2006 elections for the second Palestinian Legislative 

Council. Hamas won 74 of the 132 seats, 29 more than the ruling Fatah, and its leader, Ismail 

Haniya, went on to form a government. There was, of course, no way the Bush administration 

was going to allow it to survive.

Unfortunately for Dahlan and his American masters Hamas got wind of the plan to eliminate 

it and launched an Israeli-like pre-emptive strike which drove the PSF forces and their leader 

out of the Gaza Strip. 

After this development  a refreshingly honest analysis was delivered by David Wurmser who 

had served as Vice President Dick Cheney's chief Middle East adviser.

He said he believed that Hamas had had no intention of taking over the Gaza Strip until Fatah 

forced its hand.  "It looks to me," he declared, "that what happened wasn't a coup by Hamas 

but an attempted coup by Fatah that was pre pre-empted before it could happen."

He went on: 

"The Bush administration engaged in a dirty war in an effort to provide a corrupt 

dictatorship (the Palestinian Authority led by President Mahmoud Abbas) with victory."

Wurmser also said that he was especially galled by the Bush administration's hypocrisy. 

"There is a stunning disconnect between the president's call for Middle East democracy 

and this policy. It directly contradicts it."

Dahlan's humiliating defeat in the Gaza Strip did not diminish the Bush administration's 

support for him. In October 2007 it reportedly subjected Abbas to heavy pressure in an effort 

to persuade him to appoint Dahlan as his deputy. Fatah officials were quoted as saying that 

the US and some EU countries would like to see Dahlan succeed Abbas as head of the PA.

Abbas was only one of very many Palestinians who believed, as I do, that it was Dahlan who 

delivered and placed for Mossad, Israel's national intelligence agency, the poison (polonium-

210 or whatever) that killed Yasser Arafat.

Driven by this belief and fear that he might well be Dahlan's next victim Abbas gave the 

order for him to be expelled from Fatah. That was in June 2011. Three months later Dahlan's 

house was raided by Palestinian police and his private armed guards were arrested.

Subsequently Dahlan was banished from what is left of Palestine and took up residence in 

Dubai. (He and his wife Jaleela  and their four children have Serbian citizenship and Dahlan 

himself also has Montenegrin citizenship).

Today and assisted by the fact that a majority of the occupied and oppressed Palestinians are 

sick and tired of the impotence and corruption of the PA, Dahlan is seeking to make a 

comeback. And his chief promoter is Egypt's President Sisi.

Last November at a meeting in Cairo he presented Abbas with a "road map" for cleaning up 

the Palestinian political arena. Sisi's main demand - his price for a continuing relationship 

with the PA - was reconciliation between Abbas and Dahlan.

All the indications are that Sisi wants Dahlan to be Abbas's successor.

Two related questions seem to me to be in order.

The first is - Why, really, does Sisi want Dahlan to be the next president of the PA?

The short answer is - Because that's what Israel's leaders want.

The second question is - Why, really, do Israel's leaders want Dahlan to be Abbas's 

successor?

The short answer is that they hope and perhaps even believe that he would be prepared to use 

force to compel the Palestinians to accept crumbs from Zionism's table - isolated Bantustans 

on 30-40 percent of the West Bank which they could call a state. 

My speculation is that even if Sisi-led Arab plotting and bribery did result in Dahlan 

replacing Abbas as president of the PA, he would almost certainly be assassinated if he tried 


to impose Zionism's surrender terms on the Palestinians.
